Platform
Make the work visible. Make the knowledge usable.
Connect structured data, documents, events and decisions into governed operational views and permission-aware AI search.
Source-aware answers • traceable metrics • actionable alerts
Capabilities
What the layer provides. Every module and customer system inherits it rather than rebuilding it.
Shared records
One meaning for customer, order and employee across every module.
Relationships
How records connect, so a question can be answered without a join nobody can write.
Event history
What happened and when, kept rather than overwritten.
Knowledge layer
Documents, SOPs, policies, tickets, decisions and notes, in one permission-aware index.
RAG search
Answers with citations, source freshness and explicit confidence handling.
Dashboards
Role-specific views from frontline execution to executive outcome.
Alerts and prediction
Anomalies, demand, delay, risk, staffing and service signals.
Governance
Lineage, retention, classification, access control, quality and deletion.
Not another silo
The failure mode this page exists to avoid is obvious and common: a data platform is added to unify the estate, and becomes the estate's newest silo — a copy of everything, governed by nobody, trusted by no one.
So the operational data model lives with the systems that produce it, definitions are shared rather than duplicated, and every metric traces back to the transaction it came from. If a number cannot be drilled into, it is not published.
Semantic definitions
A metric means one thing. Where two departments genuinely need different definitions, both are defined, named differently and reconciled — rather than one quietly winning in a dashboard nobody audited.
Permission awareness
Search and answers respect the same permissions as the records behind them. A retrieval layer that can surface a document the reader could not otherwise open is a data breach with a chat interface.
How it is measured
Defined before launch and re-measured after. These are the measures; results belong to a specific engagement.
- Answer groundedness
- Whether the citation supports the claim.
- Source freshness
- How old the underlying record was.
- Definition drift
- Metrics whose meaning has diverged between teams.
- Time to answer
- How long a routine operational question takes.
- Coverage
- Share of questions the layer can actually answer.
- Access incidents
- Retrievals that surfaced something they should not have — target zero.
What this page does not claim
No single source of truth for everything. Some systems will remain authoritative for their own data, and the honest goal is agreed ownership per entity with traceable lineage — not a warehouse that claims to have replaced them all.
